Position Summary
The Online Learning Manager is responsible for the administration, delivery, and continuous improvement of the association’s online learning operations. This position manages the learning management system (LMS), coordinates the technical setup and delivery of live online education programs, develops and publishes on-demand learning products, and provides technical and operational support to learners, speakers, and staff.
The role is highly operational and execution-focused. Working closely with the Director of Education, the Education Manager, and subject matter experts, the Online Learning Manager ensures that online learning programs are well organized, technically sound, learner-centered, and aligned with applicable accreditation and continuing education requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
LMS Administration and Support
Serve as the primary administrator for the association’s LMS, including course setup, maintenance, user support, testing, reporting, and content cleanup.
Maintain the structure, organization, and quality of the LMS to support an effective learner experience.
Troubleshoot LMS issues for members, customers, speakers, and staff, and work with vendors as needed to resolve technical problems.
Manage course revisions, archiving, content audits, asset organization, and related recordkeeping.
Support LMS-related projects, including platform updates, process improvements, integrations, and possible future LMS implementation or migration.
Develop and maintain internal procedures and documentation related to LMS administration and online learning operations.
Live Online Learning Operations
Lead the technical setup, execution, and closeout of live online education programs, including webinars, virtual workshops, master classes, and similar events.
Manage online event logistics in relevant systems and platforms, including platform setup, polls, materials, attendance tracking, recordings, and post-event processing.
Provide day-of technical and logistical support for speakers and participants to ensure a smooth virtual learning experience.
Partner with the Education Manager and other internal staff on planning, scheduling, and presenter coordination for live online programs, as needed.
Complete post-event tasks such as attendance reconciliation, recording management, evaluation distribution, learner communications, and related documentation.
On?Demand Learning Production and Management
Build and publish on-demand learning products using existing content, including webinar recordings, conference recordings, presentations, and related educational materials.
Create engaging self-paced learning experiences that may include knowledge checks, assessments, course resources, and evaluations.
Use course authoring and multimedia tools to enhance and repurpose content for online delivery.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to organize content into practical, valuable learning products for members.
Help extend the value of existing content by turning it into usable and marketable online learning opportunities.
Accreditation, Reporting, and Operational Support
Support the setup and delivery of online learning in a manner that aligns with applicable accreditation and continuing education requirements, including NASBA CPE, SFO, and CAE credit where relevant.
Maintain awareness of operational requirements that affect compliance, such as attendance tracking, assessment setup, course structure, learner records, and required documentation.
Provide operational support related to continuing education credits, transcripts, and learner records for online education programs.
Run and maintain reports related to enrollment, attendance, completion, evaluations, and learner engagement.
Support the setup and maintenance of online learning products and related records in the association management system and other integrated platforms, as needed.
Customer Service and Collaboration
Serve as a primary point of contact for learner, member, customer, and speaker support related to online learning programs, credit-related inquiries, platform access, and learner records.
Provide responsive technical support, issue resolution, and administrative follow-through related to online learning operations.
Participate in shared department support for member and customer inquiries related to education programs and services.
Collaborate with internal staff, external contributors, and vendors to support the successful delivery of online learning programs and services.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the education department and organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in education, training, learning technologies, communications, or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in online learning, LMS administration, webinar or virtual event coordination, digital course production, or a related role.
Experience administering a learning management system and supporting users in an online education environment.
Experience coordinating or executing live virtual learning events.
Experience using eLearning authoring tools and/or multimedia tools to build or enhance online learning content.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a nonprofit association, membership organization, or professional development environment.
Familiarity with adult learning principles and online learning best practices.
Familiarity with LMS platforms such as TopClass or similar systems.
Familiarity with webinar platforms such as Zoom and database or AMS platforms such as iMIS.
Working knowledge of tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Descript, HeyGen, Camtasia, Synthesia, Adobe Audition, or similar platforms.
Working familiarity with continuing education or accreditation requirements, particularly for accredited live online and self-study learning.
Familiarity with K–12 education or school business is helpful but not required.

Work Environment
This position is primarily remote or hybrid and requires regular computer-based work, virtual meeting participation, and coordination across multiple systems and teams. Some travel may be required for the Annual Conference & Expo, staff meetings, and other organizational meetings or events as needed.
Preference will be given to candidates located in Northern Virginia or the greater DMV area.
