The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) is an organization of professionals committed to excellence in cardiovascular ultrasound and its application to patient care through education, advocacy, research, innovation, and service to our members and the public. ASE, the largest subspecialty society for cardiovascular imaging, is seeking an Online Learning and Education Manager for our location in Durham, NC. This position will report to the VP of Educational Activities.
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation and management of ASE’s learning management system (LMS) and is the primary contact for internal information related to online education activities. This position is also responsible for all virtual events supported by the LMS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the learning management system (LMS) that serves as an online portal for education.
Primary point of contact for LMS vendor. Manages all change requests, system updates and implementation schedules.
Work with the VP of Educational Activities to create and monitor the LMS budget including online sales analysis.
Work with the Controller to book all revenue from the LMS until the systems are integrated.
Manage the project for the sales order integration of the LMS and MemberNation
Implement business rules like price plans, user groups & permissions, catalog set-up, system workflows, etc.
Develop, implement, and analyze post-program evaluations for online activity attendees.
Determine and implement ways the LMS can assist in other areas of ASE (i.e. Abstracts, new employee onboarding, etc.)
Maintain the training resource for staff (i.e., the Diversity & Inclusion videos and zoom training documents)
Work with product workgroups to create online continuing medical education (CME) activities, including webinars, journal-based activities, online courses, virtual meetings, mobile app, question bank, etc.
Establish processes and procedures to improve efficiencies in Education department (i.e. Smartsheet)
Oversee management and implementation of the live course app, including processing data uploads, maintenance and support for app platform.
Attend live courses as assigned to assist with faculty presentations and facilitate app’s audience polling features.
Assist VP of Education with annual analysis of online activities to provide recommendations to the Education Committee for modifications.
Committee liaison: LMS Workgroup and other (TBD) as new Education-related tactics are established.
Other Functions: 15% of the time
Assist Meetings Assistant, when needed, in handling and processing incoming calls, emails and faxes related to education.
Provide customer service for education-related questions and inquiries. Fulfilling requests for access to educational activities.
Manage the Education/Meetings help desk ticket system and facilitate to appropriate members of the team.
Contribute to other projects and tasks as needed in support of ASE's success.
Support the organizational structure of ASE by attending staff meetings, working on task forces, seeking and attending professional development opportunities, working in a team atmosphere and cooperating with other staff members, completing minutes, meeting summaries, and paperwork in a timely manner.
Travel to ASE meetings and other exhibit venues will be required for this position.
Education: Bachelor degree required
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in cloud-based platform management and project management. Experience with non-profit membership association(s) and medical meetings desired.
Experience with databases and proven knowledge validating data accuracy.
Experience in Learning Management Systems administration and support.
Experience in Learning and Development of online educational content.
Familiar with e-commerce processes and promotion
Competence in Windows Office software, database programs, and online applications.
Knowledge of continuing education processes (even if not healthcare related).
Proven ability to coordinate projects that involve multiple stakeholders, internal and external.
Commitment to superior level of customer service.
Excellent writing and grammatical skills.
Outstanding organization and communications skills, with strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage projects within expected deadlines and budgets.
