GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Executive Director/Account Manager, Association & Client Services provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for all assigned CGi clients. This role is multifaceted including governance and board support, meeting planning, strategic planning and financial management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as an Account Manager for all assigned clients.
Collaborate with the board of Directors to identify, create, and implement strategic plans to actualize business objectives.
Monitor client operations and ensure employees and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
Develop partnerships with client stakeholders, industry regulators and other relevant parties.
Identify potential risks and opportunities within the client and its environment to protect business interests.
Represent the company at social and corporate events in ways that strengthen the brand and communicate the company’s message.
Develop and implement strategies aiming to promote the client’s mission and “voice”.
Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the client in ways that strengthen its brand.
Understand the client’s financial standing, report and ensure fiduciary accountabilities.
Create remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management when necessary.
Provide strategic recommendations for growth, member engagement, and revenue diversification.
Maintain awareness of industry trends, standards, and advancements, and influence change/improvements as needed.
Oversee and ensure CGi client standards for meeting planning, finance / budgeting, marketing, membership data, etc.
Collaborates with Executive Team and Business Development to evaluate potential client growth and ROI for CGi.
Maintains an annual client calendar for CGi department awareness.
Ensures client contract renewal and retention.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field. Previous association management experience required
Certified Association Executive certification preferred
Demonstrated experience successfully managing customer service. Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
Enthusiastic approach, self-reliant and the ability to work successfully with minimal supervision are critical to success
Experience creating and managing departmental budgets, to achieve annual revenue and expense goals
In depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and managerial best practices
Experience in developing strategies and plans
Proven relationship building skills. Promotes cooperation and mutual support to achieve goals.
Exceptional time and project management ability and highly detail-oriented
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and constantly striving toward service improvement and standards of excellence
Responds positively to changing business needs and responsibilities. Adapts approach and methods to achieve results
Ability to professionally receive direction and feedback and subsequently modify leadership/style to achieve CGi/client goals as well as successful collegial collaboration
COMMUNICATION AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Superior attention to detail, organizational and follow up skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
An analytical mind capable for “out-of-the-box” thinking and problem resolution
Strong presentation skills
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
Proficient: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce) and databases (e.g., MS Excel)
EXPECTED TRAVEL
Availability for 15% travel per year, including some weekends
