The Director of Credentialing is responsible for the management and oversight of all development and operational functions for NBSTSA’s certification programs. Implements continuous quality improvements to ensure the application of initiatives that align with organizational goals. Maintains positive relationships with team members, external vendors, stakeholders, and leadership to maintain excellence, credibility, relevance, and defensibility of certification programs.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee the management of the applicant lifecycle and all examination development and maintenance initiatives. Oversee, train, and develop the certification team and conducts annual performance evaluations. Oversee application approvals, denials, and audit processes for all certification and recertification programs. Serves as the liaison to committees and establishes policies and processes for certification committees. Completes reports on certification department operational performance and key metrics. Implements and monitors quality assurance practices to ensure the effective delivery of certifications. Leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program quality and candidate experience. Lead and facilitate training and development of volunteer subject matter experts for (i.e., Item Writing, Item Review, and Form Review). Manage the vendor relationship. Supervise and collaborate with third party vendors and their teams for services (i.e., exam publishing, program management, security, and psychometrics) to ensure the defensibility of exams and to analyze system functionality, make recommendations for continuous improvements and to interpret and report on exam performance data. Oversee application processing, maintenance of certification records, and audit processes for all certification programs. Manage and resolve customer inquiries requiring escalation related to exam administration, appeals and authorizations. Supervise, manage and direct the certification team. Oversee NCCA accreditation compliance and recertification processes. Provide program performance, financial, and strategic initiatives reports to the CEO. Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
Master’s degree in educational psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, statistics, education, or instructional design or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of 5 years managing examination development, delivery, and maintenance of certification or credentialing program. ICE-CCP or ICE Credentialing Specialist preferred OR the ability to complete either within 12 months of hiring. 3 years of direct supervisory experience managing teams. 3 years of experience working with committees and in meeting planning and preparation. Experienced with multiple technologies (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, exam development platforms). Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends. Experience with NCCA accreditation. Pay: $97,000.00 - $119,000.00 per year
