POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Specialist, External and Corporate Relations supports the Philanthropy Department and Director of External Relations by assisting in the management and implementation of the Foundation’s corporate giving program. The Specialist, External Relations meets short-term and long-term goals by utilizing fundraising “best practices” for corporate and other external partners. These responsibilities will be executed with design assistance from the Foundation’s marketing department and in alignment with the Foundation’s brand. The Specialist, External and Corporate Relations focuses on building and stewarding donor relationships with external and corporate partners.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Corporate and External Relations Support
With leadership from the Director, External Relations to ensure a consistent and strategic approach to fundraising to maximize financial support for the College.
Conduct comprehensive prospect research and prospect management, including prospect identification, prioritization, biographical and financial research, and capacity analysis.
Assist with corporate communications, giving, and benefits approach supporting both Director, External Relations and Director, Corporate Relations.
Assist with all aspects and activities of the Corporate Roundtable (CRT) including stewardship meetings, summits, panels, stewardship report creation and briefings, appointments, and contractual agreements.
Assist in developing and executing a tactical plan focused on obtaining corporate support from non-pharma corporate entities to establish new, novel partnerships and revenue streams.
Assist with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship materials for all corporate donors.
Assist with meaningful engagement opportunities for corporate donors, including virtual and face-to-face meetings.
Responsible for stewardship and cultivation of entry-level corporate donors that do not yet qualify for Corporate Roundtable (CRT) recognition and benefits.
Assist with billing, invoicing, and accounting needs related to corporate partnerships
Collaborate with Philanthropy Services team to ensure accurate records are maintained and updated as needed.
Work with the Marketing Department to ensure the consistent implementation of key messages and alignment with the Foundation brand.
Provide broad-based administrative support to the corporate philanthropy team such as creating PowerPoint presentations, helping with proposals, pulling corporate donor reports, and any relevant corporate meeting coordination and planning.
Provide planning, organization, and execution support for Convergence.
Track timelines of corporate team activities to ensure all deadlines are met.
Travel to industry functions such as conferences and client visits as needed. (10-15%).
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS/BA in related discipline with three (3) years’ experience in fundraising and/or donor relations, or more than five (5) years’ experience with no degree.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and crafting clear, concise narratives.
Excellent organizational and project management abilities, adept at solving problems and analyzing complex situations while managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines, including "rapid response" scenarios.
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Experience in event and meeting planning is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate tactfully and professionally with a diverse range of individuals, including staff, donors, board members, and vendors.

Ability to work independently while thriving in a cooperative team environment.
Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) and web browsing. Familiarity with virtual meeting software (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) is a plus.
