OVERVIEW:

The Professional Insurance Agents of Tennessee (PIA TN) is seeking an experienced and passionate individual with strong leadership and managerial skills to plan and execute the programs of this progressive, member-driven association, as well as build relationships with related organizations.

The PIA TN is an association dedicated to the growth, perpetuation, and success of our members as independent business people. As an affiliate of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents, PIA TN provides benefits and services, as well as insurance products, for member agents and their clients in Tennessee.

The Executive Director has full responsibility for planning and executing the long-range goals of the organization as determined by the leadership and managing the operations of the association’s office based in Franklin, TN. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and promotes interest and participation in PIA programs on the part of its members through strong communication and personal contacts within group
• Ensures the association is in full compliance with local, state and federal rules governing corporate and program activities
• Identifies potential partners both in members and vendor relationships to help further the mission of the organization
• Attends and reports at all meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings
• Plans and conducts the annual membership meeting and conference including the RFP process, hotel negotiations, development of marketing campaign, program development, and revenue generation

Qualifications

• Professional, respectful and tactful demeanor
• Knowledge of finance, marketing and small business management
• Personal and professional ethics beyond reproach
• Bachelor's degree in discipline that promotes business acumen and working with people
• General knowledge of insurance is desirable. Ability to become P&C licensed
• Adept at thinking creatively and bringing new ideas and a fresh perspective to the association's leadership
