JOB TITLE: Marketing and Communications Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, executing, monitoring, and measuring ARMA’s marketing and communications efforts, serving as the main point of contact for all marketing and communications needs. This entry level position will work closely with our external marketing partners, internal teams, and contractors to develop and carry out campaigns across the organization, including membership, education and certification programs, events, and other special projects supporting our member community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Executive Director, Vice President of Training & Certifications and Vice President of Member Services to execute various elements as it relates to email marketing, website, member community platform and social media channels.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the association’s communications strategy.
- Help identify and develop innovative messaging, advertising, marketing collateral, multi-media outreach, and campaigns in support of the association’s communications strategy.
- Format and execute email marketing to association audiences, including, but not limited to e-newsletters, event promotions, and marketing for educational programs.
- Maintain regular social media presence including messaging, comment correspondence, sharing, and updating information to increase utilization and usefulness to members and the public.
- Generate online traffic and discussion to increase engagement across social media and networking channels.
- Provide support as needed to the Editor and Publications Manager.
- Contribute to the creation of graphic design and imagery work on behalf of the association services, programs, and projects.
- Assist in supporting the association’s brand development and compliance to brand guidelines.
- Manage association content calendar.
- Assist in updating content for the association’s website and ensuring that content is regularly updated.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following education, experience, competencies, and language skills:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent related experience in graphic design, electronic marketing, communications, or marketing.
Experience & Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Working knowledge of website design, HTML/CSS, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience writing and editing for a digital audience.
- The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience using a CRM/AMS platform with an integrated email marketing system (YourMembership, Informz and HigherLogic a plus).
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Has excellent writing and editing skills.
- Has strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Has strong task prioritization and time management skills
- Must be self-directed, able to develop strategies to conduct projects, and see projects through to completion.
- Has ability to collaborate with members and staff at all levels.
- Is highly motivated, with ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Has the ability to work within organizational teams.
- Has marketing automation experience, including email automation.
- Has experience with social media platforms and analytical tools.
Language Skills (includes mental, verbal, writing skills)
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers.
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to grammar and writing etiquette is important.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to Association management, Association members and other Staff Members of the Association.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, rules, policies and procedures that may be furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ensures understanding by asking clarifying questions and restates understanding for confirmation.
