The Senior Manager, Communications will be a strategic thinking and excellent writer and content producer in TFI’s efforts to tell the story of fertilizer to multiple audiences. Working closely with the Director, Public Affairs, the Senior Manager will provide strategic communications support for the association through the development of a weekly newsletter, blog postings, issue briefs, annual & other reports, membership material, web content & design, presentation materials, press releases & statements, talking points, and executive remarks. A key member of the External Affairs team, the Senior Manager will work across departments to remain up to date on key happenings within the organization and build a strong knowledge base to create content.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a comprehensive communications strategy that focuses on telling the story of fertilizer to various audiences: including policymakers, thought leaders, industry members, and the public
• Create various communications collateral: including weekly newsletter, blog posts, issue briefs, annual report, sustainability report, white papers, membership material, web content, presentation materials, press statements, talking points, board materials, executive remarks, and materials supporting meetings and other TFI events
• Ensure materials follow brand guidelines in all media
• Manage TFI website, including usability and content
• Field media requests and work internally to schedule interviews
• Work closely with EA to proactively set up media availability for CEO when traveling
• Provide strategic support to Director, Public Affairs as needed
• Work with programs team to raise awareness of TFI meetings, events, and webinars
• Support rapid response and crisis communication
• Manage media lists, thought leader contacts, and develop relationships with key influencers

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Ability to write to various audiences in unique voices
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Canva
• Knowledge of web publishing and design
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
