The Administration Manager provides a range of management and operational services for the North Carolina Dental Society. Areas of primary responsibility include managing the NCDS Healthcare Plan, the NCDS Patient Mediation Program, the NCDS Safe Harbor 401(k) Pension Plan, the NCDS employee benefits program, and the range of insurance coverages required for operation of the North Carolina Dental Society, North Carolina Services for Dentistry, Inc., the North Carolina Dental Society Healthcare Plan, the North Carolina Dental Society Foundation, and the NCDS Annual Session.
The Administration Manager reviews and authorizes all online banking transactions, and is the signatory on bank accounts for the North Carolina Dental Society and its subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational, project management, customer service and contract negotiation skills, along with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure.
Manages the operation of the North Carolina Dental Society Healthcare Plan, a self-funded Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) which provides group healthcare for actively practicing NCDS members and their eligible staff and family.
Manages the NCDS Healthcare Plan’s annual licensing with the North Carolina Department of Insurance; oversees the NCDS Healthcare Plan’s state and federal regulatory compliance and reporting activities, including statutory audits.
Acts as liaison to the NCDS Healthcare Plan’s Third-Party Administrator, attorneys, actuaries, benefits consultants, hospital provider network, physician provider network, pharmacy and prescription benefit provider, utilization management review provider, case management services provider, and stop-loss insurance provider.
Monitors the NCDS Healthcare Plan’s current and projected financial performance and other metrics; provides regular reports to NCDS Board of Trustees and NCSD Board of Directors.
Manages the administrative processes for the North Carolina Dental Society Patient Mediation program.
Evaluates and obtains insurance coverages required for operation of the North Carolina Dental Society, North Carolina Services for Dentistry, the NCDS Healthcare Plan, the NCDS Foundation, and the NCDS Annual Session.
Manages annual state and federal Workers’ Compensation audits and regulatory reporting for the North Carolina Dental Society and the North Carolina Dental Society Foundation.
Manages the NCDS employee benefits program, including life insurance, long-term and short-term disability Insurance, healthcare coverage, and voluntary supplemental insurance coverages.
Serves as Trustee for the NCDS Safe Harbor401(k) Pension Plan; manage regulatory compliance and reporting; authorize employee enrollments, terminations, and fund withdrawals; serve as liaison with the Plan’s Third-Party Administrator.
Serves as authorized signatory on all bank accounts and checks for North Carolina Dental Society and its subsidiaries.
Manages maintenance requirements for 1600 Evans Road.
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least five years’ experience with licensing, regulatory compliance, and administration of self-funded group healthcare plans; direct experience with Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangements preferred.
Proficiency with state and federal healthcare licensing, administration, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Must hold and maintain two active North Carolina insurance agent licenses issued by the North Carolina Department of Insurance: (1) Life and Health License and (2) Property and Casualty License; these licenses are issued and monitored by North Carolina Department of Insurance.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including conflict management/resolution skills.
Independent judgment and discretion in matters of sensitivity and confidentiality.
Ability to interact effectively with NCDS members, Boards, staff, and business, legal, financial, healthcare, government, regulatory, and insurance professionals.
Ability to work independently and fulfill position responsibilities without direct supervision.
