Metrix Connect LLC, an ASME company, is seeking an Industry Event Manager to join their team.
Metrix Connect LLC hosts an integrated events and content platform for engineers and technical professionals in additive manufacturing/3D printing, digital engineering, energy transformation, and robotics who work in industries from aerospace and automotive to energy, medical, and more.
The Industry Event Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering 2-3 industry events per year – virtual and in-person. This role will lead all aspects of production related to the event including marketing, sales, conference, special events, operations, registration, and budgeting. This individual will ensure all team members are in sync with keen attention to detail and provides market direction, identifying and recruiting target audience and exhibitor base.
Additional responsibilities include:
Develops innovative event features and programs. Maintains working industry knowledge of technologies, market trends and key companies. Identifies opportunities for event expansion and growth – developing plans and strategies to implement. Utilizes project management tools such as milestone charts and timelines. Monitors progress of ops, sales, marketing to keep production on track and makes progress visible to the team and organization.
Manages and tracks performance against budget, identifies revenue opportunities, and sets and tracks key performance indicators. Contributes and manages event strategy and portfolio; ensures alignment with marketing, sales, and content delivering effective, impactful events.
Supports event sales activities and works directly with Director, Sales, and account executives to provide leads and identify sponsor targets. Monitors sales and marketing plans - maintaining progress-to-goal, creating new sales opportunities and sustaining market direction and focus.
Provides event structure and design to drive logistical requirements for the event (facilities, room setups, registration, AV, catering, signage) and works with operations team to ensure smooth event operations and high customer satisfaction.
Industry outreach and intelligence includes building relationships with major exhibitors, industry groups, and key attendees to ensure event is aligned with market needs and requirements. Includes formation of event advisory committee and attendance at competitive/complementary industry events.
Strategizes with marketing to identify and attract desired target audience. Contributes to product/content marketing strategies based upon market data, research, and advisor input.
The focus is to deliver top quality, world-class content, business value and memorable event experiences to our target customer. Performance will be measured by meeting and exceeding revenue and attendance targets, achieving production milestones, program quality and customer satisfaction scores.
Travel required (~20%) for onsite event management, pre-event planning/site selection and other events and meetings as required.
Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree and proven work experience (7-10 years) of tradeshow/event management and execution, and/or sales, marketing with a track record of results. Virtual event experience preferred. Knowledge of technically oriented events and technical literacy a plus.

Demonstrated leadership, communication, and facilitation skills, detail-oriented, project management skills, strategic thinker. Excellent budgeting and financial management. Ability to interface with executives and build relationships.
Proven ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and priorities, while maintaining sharp attention to detail. High energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under deadlines. Product development skills and self-starter demeanor.
Interest and/or aptitude in technical topics, STEM knowledge and experience. Understands how to facilitate, influence, and engage. Has a natural curiosity and enjoys learning.
