The American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) is an organization of professionals committed to excellence in cardiovascular ultrasound and its application to patient care through education, advocacy, research, innovation, and service to our members and the public. ASE, the largest subspecialty society for cardiovascular imaging, is seeking a e-Learning Online Education Specialist for our location in Durham, NC. This position may have the option to work from home, however will need to be available to come into the office for meetings as needed. The position will report to the Vice President of Educational Activities and will be responsible for the following:
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the coordination of platform and logistics for all virtual events, online education and webinars.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 90% of the time
Virtual Courses and Virtual Components of Live Courses
Virtual Courses (no live component)
Handle faculty communications for virtual courses, including invitations, confirmation of speaking assignments, disclosures and conflict of interest, and delivery of presentations.
Collect all faculty presentations prior to the activity and review for HIPAA violations, in advance of making the slides available to attendees.
Work with the Healthcare Meetings Manager to verify that all Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education /Maintenance of Certification requirements are met.
Build registration in MemberNation or LMS (depending on course)
Oversee management and implementation of the live course app, including processing data uploads, maintenance and support for app platform.
Develop, implement, and analyze post-program evaluations for virtual course attendees.
Organize and request honorarium for faculty
Assist Vice President of Educational Activities with annual analysis of courses to provide recommendations to the Education Committee for
Virtual Components of Live Courses
Work with Meetings Manager to ensure all content recordings are scheduled and delivered.
Coordinate editing of all videos for final release
Work with the Online Education Manager to build, upload and publish the on-demand activity in the ASE Learning Hub (LMS).
Live and On-Demand Webinars:
Manage ASE’s Live Webinar request and approval process in accordance with the Education Committee’s Guidelines.
Distribute weekly staff report regarding all approved live webinars, registration counts, and Certified Medical Education (CME) information.
Liaise with the staff contacts, moderators, and speakers to send invitations, assign appropriate deadlines, and coordinate all necessary materials including disclosures, release forms, presentations, biographies etc.
Facilitate the review and approval process with CME Committee for all webinars offering CME.
Create the webinar activity and registration, coordinate the rehearsal and live event invitations with panelist designations.
Post-event: Organize and request honorarium, edit recordings, and post the on-demand product (if applicable) on the ASE Learning Hub within 2 weeks of the live date.
Assist business development staff to fulfill post-event reporting requirements for activities receiving corporate support.
Online Education Support
Work with CME Editors to facilitate monthly journal-based CME activities on the online portal.
Support the Vice President of Educational Activities in the development and implementation of online CME activities.
Work with the Online Education Manager to build, upload and publish online activities in the ASE Learning Hub LMS.
Other Functions: 10% of the time
Assist with handling and processing incoming calls, emails and faxes related to education as
Contribute to other projects and tasks as needed in support of ASE's
Support the organizational structure of ASE by attending staff meetings, working on task forces, seeking and attending professional development opportunities, working in a team atmosphere and cooperating with other staff members, completing minutes, meeting summaries, and paperwork in a timely
