EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Heavy Construction Contractors Association (www.hcca.net)
The Executive Director is expected to provide high level energetic leadership and management of 150 member firm association (501(c)(6) Non-Profit). He/She shall develop and maintain effective working relationships among the board, staff and other associations. The Executive Director will build positive relationships with member firms, legislators, local government leaders, community leaders, funding agencies, and civic and special interest groups. This individual shall exercise professional judgment and executive skill in administering overall association operation.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
Work with the Board of Directors and staff to develop and implement all policies, procedures, and strategic plans.
Manage operations and administration of the organization utilizing staff, contractors and volunteer efforts to maximize resources.
Oversee the planning and delivery of programs, events, and industry related training classes.
Maintain appropriate fiscal and budgetary control of the organization. Prepare budgets and monitor expenses and revenues.
Work collaboratively with other industry related membership organizations, government and public affairs professionals, and the association to keep abreast of ever-changing policies and legislation that may affect the industry.
Market association to continue to grow membership.
Strong leadership, human resource management, governance, financial management, marketing, communications, consensus building, negotiation, and organizational management skills.
Demonstrable experience in budget planning, management, and projection.
Ability to establish, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
Proven aptitude for bringing people together and building team cohesion.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Track record in marketing and growing the membership of an association or equivalent group.
Education, Experience & Certification:
Bachelor's degree in business, organizational development, non-profit management or equivalent experience.
Minimum of (5) five years of proven success in upper management and/or executive level responsibilities in associations, business or industry required.
