SUMMARY The North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) is seeking an enthusiastic, mission-driven, and experienced Engagement Coordinator who will thrive in a challenging and dynamic work environment. This position will play a key role in promoting the value of NCACPA to its constituents through the development and coordination of strategic engagement initiatives. These initiatives will focus on recruitment and retention that leverage relationships through student member pipeline efforts, engagement opportunities, and relationship building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Membership Recruitment and Engagement
Work with the Director of Engagement and Engagement Manager to support membership acquisition and retention through enhanced engagement strategies.
Serve as staff liaison to select resource and networking groups. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to working with NCACPA volunteers to facilitate connections, promote awareness, identify challenges and needs, foster DEI strategies, and plan and promote events for NCACPA’s constituents.
Serve as point of contact for student member inquiries and issues.
Assist Director of Engagement and Engagement Manager in any other duties as needed.
Online Community Platform
Serve as liaison between the platform vendor and NCACPA.
Monitor and report trends around usage within platform to marketing and professional development teams to help identify strategy and enhance engagement.
Track metrics around participation, views, comments, and online interactions.
Analyze metrics and usage to improve communication, outreach, and engagement within the platform; identify areas of opportunity to ensure NCACPA is using the platform to its fullest potential.
Ability to confidently address members or tap into internal resources to appropriately handle comments and issues.
Enforce community guidelines and participate as a member of the NCACPA Internal Controls group
Manage the Mentor and Volunteer Match modules. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to staying abreast of best practices and emerging trends and providing frequent data and trend analysis for optimal member usage and satisfaction.
Lead planner for the Student Leadership Conference. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to contract review, marketing coordination, project management, speaker management, data entry, report querying and analysis, and budget creation and monitoring.
Assist the Engagement Manager with event logistics for special NCACPA events/programs. Duties include but aren’t limited to on-site event support, administrative assistance, and other event production elements.
Coordinate social and networking events. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to creating events in NCACPA’s association management software (AMS), netForum, and the Association’s online community platform, Connect; serving as venue point of contact, creating and scheduling e-marketing copy, registration tracking, sponsor management, speaker management, sending event reminders, recording monthly accruals, food and beverage orders, badge production, materials and signage orders, and creation of reports.
Assist in the creation of annual budgets for member engagement events.
Travel to events and activities across the state and assist with on-site duties (as needed).
Assist Director of Engagement and Engagement Manager in any other duties as needed.
Foundation Engagement and Development
Attend each Foundation board meeting and provide administrative support.
Serve as an NC CPA Foundation staff liaison and assist other NC CPA Foundation staff liaisons in other duties as needed.

Experience with online community management a plus
Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access); Adobe Professional preferred
Experience or familiarity with association management software, netForum Enterprise preferred, and customer relationship management tools, Neon CRM preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT/ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS Candidate should possess superior organizational skills as this role demands the ability to manage multiple projects at various stages ongoing throughout the year. The candidate is expected to excel at timely communication with all their team members, third party vendors/partners, and NCACPA consumers.
LANGUAGE and LISTENING SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business proposals, and member communications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries, requests, or complaints from members of the Association.

Additional Salary Information: Salary based on a 35-hour work week.
