SUMMARY The Resident and Fellow Education Manager oversees execution and evaluation of fellowship programs and post-graduate education and training offerings. The manager will also identify potential new programs and/or products and manage their development and implementation. This position ensures work is in alignment with the AOFAS strategic plan. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Fellowship Match and Accreditation - Serve as staff liaison to the Fellowship Committee, coordinating meetings, preparing meeting materials and meeting minutes.
- Serve as AOFAS staff liaison to SF Match.
- Manage the foot and ankle orthopaedic surgery match program. Maintain program agreements and administrative records relating to all participating fellowship programs and fellows.
- Communicate with participating program directors, faculty, coordinators, and fellowship applicants regarding all matters related to the fellowship match.
- Compile annual Match results and tracking reports for the AOFAS Fellowship Committee and the AAOS BOS Fellowship Match Oversight Committee.
- Conduct annual post-match surveys of applicants and program directors.
- Maintain accurate fellowship records by program and year; post fellows’ names and programs on the AOFAS website annually.
- Collaborate with marketing to maintain appropriate communication/website information.
- Manage the Fellowship Match timeline and ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Attend meetings of the AAOS BOS Fellowship Match Oversight Committee.
- Stay current on ABOS, AAOS and ACGME initiatives on fellowship programs, and new technological implementations for fellowship match.
- Manage and oversee AOFAS fellowship accreditation program, including application, program guidelines, review process, program agreements, evaluation, case log reporting, reaccreditation process, and other work as assigned by the Fellowship Committee.
- Coordinate the Fellowship Fair at the AOFAS Annual Meeting, including participating programs, logistics, set up, and post-event evaluation.
- Coordinate the Fellowship Case Series and other fellowship educational offerings.
Resident Education and Training - Serve as staff liaison to the Postgraduate Education and Training Committee, coordinating meetings, preparing meeting materials and meeting minutes.
- Manage the Visiting Professor Program, promoting it to residency programs, creating and maintaining a speaker list, coordinating visit scheduling, preparing visit materials and maintaining participation and evaluation reports.
- Conduct biennial survey of residency programs on foot and ankle orthopaedic residency training.
- Coordinate the resident educational programing including Annual Meeting, courses, webinars, curriculum resources, and on PRC.
- Collaborate with membership staff on the Resident Scholar program.
- Collaborate with development staff to obtain sponsorship and grant funding.
Fellowship Grant Program - Manage the administration of the Fellowship Scholarship Program including program criteria, committee review process, fund disbursement, funding agreements, and required reporting.
- Provide grant reconciliation reports to appropriate grantors and AOFAS Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with development staff to obtain sponsorship and grant funding.
Marketing and Communications - Create and coordinate overall communication plan for medical students, residents, and fellows to ensure continuity in contact information and messaging.
- Work with the Marketing staff and the Director of Education and Meetings to deploy messages and create materials. Provide input into new marketing strategies.
- Prepare articles for InStride, AAOS NOW, AAOS Resident eNewsletter, and other outlets as assigned.
- Collaborate with marketing staff to maintain up-to-date website information.
