Ohio Trucking Association seeks an experienced, creative hunter to develop and implement membership recruitment, retention, and engagement programs, generate sponsorship revenue, and cultivate non-dues revenue. This key leadership role requires a self-starter who is passionate about serving members, fostering the value proposition of the organization, and protecting the brand of the Association. In collaboration with other staff leaders, the VP of Membership plays a pivotal role implementing initiatives that keep members for life and attract new members.
Develop and execute a membership recruitment strategy that supports growth of the organization. This will include prospecting, cold calling, employing a sales pipeline and closing on potential new members.
Complete a comprehensive on-boarding process of new members to solidify integration into the organization.
Cultivate membership retention by engaging in member visits, organizing our OTA on the Road regional meetings, weekly communications quotas with members, bi-monthly membership updates, and membership dues audits.
Develop relationships with members to enhance member engagement and awareness of Association offering and benefits.
Solicit sponsorships for organization events.
Manage the Association’s endorsed programs and the membership services committee to ensure organizational objectives and standards are being upheld, including an annual audit of all program offerings.

The Ohio Trucking Association is a 100-year-old association based in greater Columbus. Under new leadership, OTA has seen significant growth in the past 7 years, particularly in the areas of membership, events and educational offerings. The organization has an FTE count of four with ten individuals under contract for various duties. OTA is governed by a 29-member board of trustees and various committees.
