SIR is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Analyst to join our team. SIR is about to embark on an exciting phase of infrastructure growth. As the result of a recent AMS assessment project, SIR is looking to upgrade our platform and develop a Business Intelligence infrastructure which will support the organization’s complex reporting needs. The DBA will use technical expertise working on performance, integrity, and security of information systems’ databases. This position closely collaborates with various departments for implementation and maintenance of the Association Management System (Personify) that support institutional business and clinical applications. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Lead internal subject matter expert on Association Management Software (Personify) and works with the AMS vendor to design enhancements or database modifications to meet new business needs and determine frequency, timing, and planning for AMS upgrades.
Develop an understanding of business priorities and needs and lead cross functional teams as a player-coach to implement and maintain required enhancements of the AMS and reporting infrastructure to achieve business goals and objectives.
Identify, analyze, create and maintain reports and queries for staff using Business Objects Web Intelligence queries, Crystal Reports, and/or SQL Enterprise Manager.
Ability to analyze business systems, define business and functional requirements, and create models with established KPIs to support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Verify the security and integrity of all database systems.
Proactively monitor for data integrity of the production and the test Personify databases and create/maintain processes to support data integrity.
With consultation from staff, lead integration efforts with 3rd party partners such as Cadmium, Astute, Elsevier, Experient, Expocad, etc.
Secondary Functions and Responsibilities
Maintain and modify custom data universes.
Write and/or maintain standard operating procedures that outline SIR’s specific use of all major systems.
Perform database administration and maintenance on core business applications, including but not limited to developing, running and monitoring nightly stored procedures, scripts and/or triggers, etc.
Analyze external data sources for potential import or comparison as needed to support business objectives.
Assist in managing open issues list on system functionality bugs and work with vendors and internal stakeholders as needed to resolve.
Develop data entry standards, train staff on procedures, and monitor compliance.
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working with Personify AMS or other related software
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on database and spreadsheet applications
Ability to adapt to varied roles and job responsibilities and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform a variety of professional tasks including, but not limited to, technology services representative on various committees or task forces
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with experience working in and contributing to Business Intelligence and Data Visualization projects. Certified Data Analyst (CDA) or a Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) credential would be a great addition.
5+ years’ experience in SQL database administration, utilities and tools
Minimum 3-year experience on an IT database conversion or implantation project
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
SIR is a small, fast paced open office environment with moderate noise levels. The use of phones and computers for extended periods of time is common. Proficiency in office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars is desired. Requires general mobility to move through the facility. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with internal staff and physician members/board via phone, in person, email and other mediums. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment. Some travel primarily for Annual Meeting. Special note regarding COVID-19:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic SIR has announced the decision to allow its staff to work remotely for the remainder of 2020. As the society creates and transitions to a more permanent schedule, the DBA may be expected to be onsite at SIR headquarters occasionally.
