The Director of Communications and Industry Relations will lead and coordinate the GOG Foundation’s overall communications strategy. Reporting to the GOG Foundation President, the Director of Communications and Industry Relations will work collaboratively with senior leadership to develop and implement communication strategies to broaden the impact of the GOG Foundation, Inc. programs and oversee organizational messaging and constituent services.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with the President and senior leadership to develop vehicles for the timely and effective delivery of information to key audiences, and thereby broaden the programmatic reach, deepen the impact and fulfill the mission of the organization.
Target audiences for Communications may include members, news media, industry, partner organizations and the public. Communications vehicles may include email newsletters, website, social media, video and marketing emails.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the current team in the cultivation of new GOG Foundation/Partners Clinical trials and Programs by engaging external collaborators/partners and Pharmaceutical Companies with molecules in development in GYN and other Women’s Health programs.
Assist in the management of GOG’s Advisory Board and ICT Programs.
Serve as executive editor for GOG’s website.
Enhance and streamline communication between internal and external stakeholders to assure delivery of all objectives.
Assist the current team as directed in the Process, Management, Execution and Delivery of the Current/Near Future Partners Clinical Programs.
Refine core messages to ensure organizational consistency.
Work closely with key physician leaders in the organization to assure alignment and timely delivery of multiple communication vehicles to meet organizational strategy and communication needs.
Write/Proofread and Coordinate delivery of newsletters, news announcements and marketing emails to key audiences.
Field inquiries from news media and connect reporters with GOG-F experts.
Write and disseminate Press releases.
Coordinate media relations at semi-annual conferences.
Maintain internal database of consumer media, trade press, scientific and technical journals, related medical societies and patient advocacy groups, relevant blogs, social media outlets, and other external sources.
Maintain active and appropriate social media presence.
Manage vendors for graphic design, photography, etc.
Write/Proofread all organization materials for clarity, style and consistency.
Latitude for Actions:
Extensive communication with the GOG Foundation medical community in order to meet the Group’s scientific research goals.
Relationship with others:
Meets regularly with GOG Partners Leadership to convey status on various projects.
Regularly Communicates with President and GOG Executive level personnel on project status.
Facilitates Discussions with External Collaborators and relevant GOG Stakeholders to move projects forward in a timely manner as it relates to communications.
Extensive Communication with the GOG Foundation Medical Community on the Partners Strategy and their role within the program.
Serves as the liaison between the GOG Foundation and external organizations, including, but not limited to, SGO, GCIG, ENGOT, IGCS, ASCO.
Minimum of ten (10) years of Industry and Oncology experience. GYN and Women’s Health Preferred; Master’s Degree Preferred
Demonstrates excellent communication skills – verbal, public speaking, written
Strong writing/editing skills, and ability to tailor to audience
Possess solid skills in computers (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Familiarity with HTML coding, WordPress, Constant Contact, and ability to learn new business systems. Experienced in engaging audiences in effective social media campaigns. Basic understanding of video production

Travel within the United States and potential International travel required. Attendance at GOG Foundation meetings required, including Semi-Annual meetings.
This is a remote teleworking position with occasional travel to GOG Foundation Offices required.
Telecommuting is allowed.
