Under the supervision of the Director of Education and Professional Development, manages the design, development and implementation of all online educational resources. Translates content created by subject matter experts into instructionally-sound education that improves learner performance. Identifies delivery methods best matched to learning needs and aligned with instructional goals, AES education strategic goals and ACCME accreditation standards. Provides staff support to the Online Education Committee and guidance to subject matter experts in the creation of online education content. Develops and employs tools and technologies appropriate for a variety of learning delivery methods including recorded lectures, self-assessments, PI-CME, podcasts, webinars, blended learning, video and mobile learning. Generates and analyzes activity reports and exam results in order to identify education needs and opportunities for digital enhancement. Provide customer support for digital products, either by training frontline member service staff to respond or directly supporting member inquiries.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With minimal supervision by the Director, and in coordination with stakeholders of the professional society, manage the development and execution of new and existing continuing education activities that are interactive, engaging, and aligned to the needs of the epilepsy professional community.
Provide e-learning expertise and recommendations for how to leverage the existing education technology systems, and identify new systems, to optimize the members’ learning experience.
Apply a systematic product development process, work plan, production schedule, and QA plan to ensure consistency for all current and future online activities.
Demonstrate expertise in the full integration of adult learning principles and compliance with ACCME accreditation requirements and standards. Obtain continuing medical education (CME) and continuing education (CE) credit approval for eligible online activities.
Work closely with Online Education Committee to routinely evaluate the effectiveness and content accuracy of online activities, and recommend enhancements, design improvements, and LMS interface changes to the Director.
Provide key insights and recommendations to the Director and Marketing team to support marketing efforts for online activities.
Oversee the customer service and user feedback processes for assigned activities and identify areas for improvement based on customer input.
Maintain standard operating procedures for the creation and implementation of all online education resources.
Provide oversight to education coordinator for the continuing education credit claim process for enduring activities and generation of evaluation reports.
Staff liaison to the Online Education Committee.
Develops annual enduring programs budget. Monitor performance against budget and makes recommendation for course correction as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology/Design, Adult Learning or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Coursework or prior work experience in course design, development and online authoring.
5-7 years’ Experience with e-learning platforms and learning management systems.
Results-oriented, self-starter, deadline-conscious, intellectually curious and willingness to learn.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, especially the ability to work effectively and professionally with health care professionals
5-7 years’ experience in an association or similar environment.
Experience with virtual events platforms, authoring software and other e-learning technologies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES including competencies that may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
Demonstrated application of instructional design theory and best practice methods including adult learning theory and e-Learning theory to deliverables.
Technical problem identification, analysis and resolution skills.
Ability to support and develop engaging eLearning content that integrates multimedia.
Basic knowledge of video editing
Ability to test e-Learning deliverables and functionality.
Ability to set priorities and make recommendations about system improvements.
Strong project management skills including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective listening, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with others to achieve shared goals.
Ability to work independently when required.
Adapt quickly to a constantly changing environment.
